Example: If the last full moon was 3 days ago, rotate the moon
dial clockwise 3 lunar days so that the moon is centered at
lunar day 18 on the lunar arch.
The moon dial is now set and will indicate the proper moon
phases as long as the clock operates continuously. If the clock
stops the moon dial will also stop and must be reset when the
clock is started again.
STEP 6
START PENDULUM SWING
(Figure 10)
A. Reaching in through the front door of the clock, place your
hand on either side of the pendulum disc.
B. Move the pendulum to the left or right side of the cabinet and
release. Let the clock run a few minutes until the pendulum
settles into an even swinging motion, all movements used in
RIDGEWAY CLOCKS have a self adjusting beat feature. In
order to activate this feature you have to "overswing" the
pendulum as described above. This allows the escapement to
"self adjust" into an even "Tick-Tock" beat.

STEP 7
SETTING THE TIME
(Figure 11)
A. On the dial, move the lever (located at the "3" position)
to SILENT.
B. Set the clock to the correct time by moving the minute
(longest) hand clockwise (forward) or counterclockwise
(backward). Move the hand slowly and evenly. Avoid
touching the hour (shortest) hand and accidentally moving it
as you set the time.
C. Set the chimes to the desired melody selection. (If your
clock has Chime/Silent it only has the Westminster Chime.)
ALLOW YOUR CLOCK TO OPERATE AT LEAST 2
HOURS BEFORE MAKING ANY ADDITIONAL
ADJUSTMENTS. If, at the end of two hours the clock
strikes the incorrect number of times on the hour, see the
adjustment for synchronization on Page 9.
REMEMBER:
On cable driven movements, do not
remove the Styrofoam packing between the pulleys and
cables until they become loose through normal operation,
which typically occurs after eight (8) hours of run time. At
that time they can easily be removed without damage to
the cables.
