  • Page 6 Let the clock run a few minutes until the pendulum settles into an even swinging motion, all movements used in RIDGEWAY CLOCKS have a self adjusting beat feature. In order to activate this feature you have to “overswing” the pendulum as described above.
  • Page 7 NOTE: NOT ALL CLOCKS ARE “EIGHT DAY CLOCKS”. Although there is usually enough chain or cable on the clock movement to allow weights to fall for eight days (this is where the term “eight day clock” originates), the length of time can be determined by the design or size of the cabinet.
  • Page 8 REGULATION FOR FAST/SLOW FOR WEIGHT DRIVEN MOVEMENTS (Figure 19) The distance the pendulum disc hangs from the clock movement determines how fast or slow your clock runs. This distance can be changed by turning the nut which is located below the pendulum disc. Turn the nut to the right and the pendulum gets shorter and the clock runs faster.
  • Page 9 SYNCHRONIZATION OF HOUR STRIKE If the hour strike and the time do not correspond you will need to make this adjustment. Example: The clock shows 4:00 and it strikes three times. Follow these instructions for correcting. 1. IF YOUR CLOCK IS SET IN THE SILENT POSITION, MOVE IT TO CHIME. 2.
  • Page 10 CHIME SELECTION Your Ridgeway Clock has beautiful chimes which can be turned off at night if you are a light sleeper. Some models play only the Westminster Chime while others will give you a selection of three different melodies. A glance at the dial of your clock will tell you which chimes can be heard on your clock.
  • Page 11 Moving the clock to a new location outside the home takes more precautions. In preparing your RIDGEWAY CLOCK for a major move it would be advisable to ask one of our local clockmasters to help you pack the clock. If this is not possible we suggest you refer to the Seven Easy Steps to set your clock up in the front of this manual and simply reverse the procedure.

This warranty is limited to the original consumer purchasing the clock and is not transferable. If a problem devel- ops with your clock mechanism, RIDGEWAY CLOCKS will repair or replace the defective part (at their election) at no charge within the lim- itations of this warranty.

CABLE (Figura 3A) Retire el forro de cartón, que rodea las varillas de repique y la ESPONJAS guía del péndulo, para esto agarre el forro por los puntos 'A' y MARTILLOS 'B' y sáquelo hacia abajo manteniéndolo recto. Retírelo hasta dejar libres los extremos de las varillas de repique y la guía del péndulo.

  • Page 22 REGULACIÓN DE LA VELOCIDAD (RÁPIDO/LENTO) PARA LOS MECANISMOS ACCIONADOS POR PESAS (Figura 19) La distancia en que cuelga el disco del péndulo respecto del mecanismo del reloj determina la velocidad a la que funcionará el reloj. Dicha distancia puede modificarse haciendo girar la tuerca que está situada debajo del disco del péndulo. Gire la tuerca hacia la derecha y el péndulo se acorta: el reloj funciona más rápido.

  • Page 35 SILENCIEUX DE NUIT (PAS DISPONIBLES SUR TOUS LES MODELES) Le silencieux de nuit est une caractéristique spéciale sur certaines des pendules qui permet d’automatiquement arrêter le carillon pendant la nuit. Le silencieux de nuit est activé avec une tige qui pend sous le cadran. Lorsque vous ouvrez la porte avant de la pendule, la tige sera visible directement sous le cadran.
  • Page 36 REGLAGE DE VITESSE RAPIDE/LENTE POUR LES MOUVEMENTS PAR POIDS (Figure 19) La distance entre le pendule et le mouvement de la pendule détermine la vitesse de fonctionnement de votre pendule. La distance peut être changée en tournant l’écrou se trouvant sous le disque du pendule. Tournez l’écrou vers la droite pour réduire la longueur du pendule et faire fonctionner le mouvement plus rapidement.

Certains models ne jouent que le carillon Westminster pendant que d’autres ont une sélection de trois mélodies différentes. Si vous regardez le cadran de votre pendule, vous saurez quel carillon peut être entendu.
