5. Commissioning according to EN81:20

The requirements for the commissioning of the Ants LES01 for execution of safety-relevant functions
in accordance with EN81-20 or EN81-50 are described below.

5.1 Requirement

Ants LES01 must be connected to an evaluation unit that conforms to the requirements for electrical
safety equipment in accordance with EN81:20 for fulfilment of the safety functions in accordance with
EN81:20.
The PSU01 of Kübler is a suitable evaluation unit. The evaluation unit can also be integrated in an
elevator control.

5.2 Ants LES01 electrical installation

Please always disconnect the supply voltage before connecting / disconnecting the signal cable.

5.2.1 EMC information

• Only use shielded twisted pair cables for bus lines.
In order to avoid ground loops, the shield should only be connected to one point (external
evaluation unit) with potential (e.g. protective earth). Depending on the plant, it may make sense
to earth the shield at multiple points to provide better bus communication.
• Ensure correct fastening of the cable shield.
• Ensure correct routing of the cable when wiring your system.
• Separate the cables in cable groups, such as motor/electric supply cables and signal/data
cables.
• Route signal and data lines as close to earth surfaces as possible (support beams, metal rails
and cabinet sheet metal) and not parallel with motor and electric supply cables.
Connect all equipment to the earth/protective conductor system with low impedance.

5.2.2 Applicable safety standards

• All cable wires must be connected as specified in the data sheet prior to commissioning.
Properly insulate all ends of the output signals that are not required in order to avoid short-circuits.
• The correct operating voltage and tha maximum permissible output current must be taken into
account (see data sheet).
• Please use a supply voltage source in accordance with SELV/PELV.

5.2.3 Connection

The Ants LES01 has 4 inputs/outputs that are already correctly wired to a picoMAX® eCOMM plug for
direct use on the external PSU. The shield is only connected to the zero potential on the PSU01 as a
5th wire.
