Lap Belt Installation

1. Loosen the harness.
a. Lift harness adjuster
lever and pull both
harness straps
forward.
b. Remove the infant
positioning pillow
and unbuckle the
harness.
2. The anti-rebound bar is
required for rear facing
installations. Attach the
anti-rebound bar (see
page 26).
IMPORTANT:
Keep
fingers away from the anti-
rebound bar connection
points to avoid finger
entrapment or pinching.
3. Recline the unoccupied
child seat to position 3
and place rear-facing on
the vehicle seat (see page
24). Ensure that no more
than 7.6 cm (3 in.) of the
base hangs over the edge
of the vehicle seat.
4. Pull the head restraint/
head pad cover up,
then pull the seat cover
forward to access the
rear-facing belt path.
5. Route the vehicle belt
through the rear-facing
belt slots, ensuring that
the vehicle belt is routed
under the harness buckle
strap.
NOTE: The buckle should
be in the inner slot.
IMPORTANT:
Do not
use lock-offs for lap belt
installations.
6. Ensure the vehicle belt is
not twisted and buckle
the seat belt.

7. Push down on the middle
of the child seat while
pulling the vehicle belt to
remove all slack.
NOTE: Ensure that the
vehicle belt is locked as
directed by your vehicle
owner's manual.
8. Replace the seat cover
and infant positioning
pillow, if required (see
page 24).
Rear-Facing Installation with Lap Belt
7.6 cm
9 Check that all connections are secure and straps are not
twisted.
9 Check that no more than 7.6 cm (3 in.) of the base hangs
over the edge of the vehicle seat.
9 Ensure that the anti-rebound bar is properly installed
(see page 26).
9 Check that the child seat cannot be moved front to back
or side to side more than 2.5 cm (1 in.) at the belt path.
If the child seat is not secure, repeat installation or use a
different seating location.
9 The child seat is correctly installed when angle guide line
is parallel to the ground when the car is parked on a level
surface. After the child is secured, the recline angle of the
child seat should be 30° – 45° from vertical (not to exceed
45°) when the car is parked on a level surface. See "Seat
Positions" on pages 24 - 25.
9 Ensure tether webbing is stored in storage pouch. See
page 30.
