Lowering the pump:
Make sure to heed and complete the installation
protocol (see section 8.1)! This will ensure correct
installation of the pump unit and fast and smooth
processing of any service requests.
Pump units with an overall length of more than
4 m must be supported with a reinforcement or the
transport case to avoid sagging during raising.
Remove the reinforcement only when the unit is vertically
suspended from the crane or tackle.

• Bring the pump into a vertical position and fasten the first
installation clamp and the rising main.
• Lower the pump until the first clamp lies on the well head.
• Fasten the second installation clamp to the upper end of the
next rising main set and fasten the pipe.
• Lift the pump and loosen the lower clamp. Then lower the
pump unit until the next clamp lies on the well head again.
• Carefully fasten the cable to each rising main using cable
clips or cable clamps. Fasten the cable after every 3 m or
less, depending on its size and weight. Do not exert any
strain on the cable.
• Use the same procedure to fasten all other rising mains.
• During installation, one pair of installation clamps must
always remain attached to the rising main to prevent the
pump from dropping into the well if the lifting device
should fail!
• The pipe bend above the well head should be fitted with a
manometer connection to allow the head to be tested (see
installation example).

Horizontal installation

Pumps may only be installed in a horizontal
position if this has been expressly permitted in
the contract documents.
• Using an appropriate hoisting device, lower the pump unit
onto the prepared support in the vessel or basin after testing
the rotor rotation and topping up the motor (as for vertical
installation).
• Secure the pump unit on the steel supports against twisting.
Use the genuine steel clamps of the manufacturer.
• Support the pump unit in its center of gravity, i.e. roughly in its
center. Several supports are required for pumps with many
stages.
• Protect the pressure branch against axial loads (e.g. with the
bottom elbow).
• The first holder on the pressure side must be designed as a
fixed point.
• Heed the minimum water level according to the illustration (cf.
section 2.5.1b).
