Congratulations! You have decided in favor of our submersible
motor pump of the SU8 series. This pump is a high-quality
product whose development incorporates more than 100 years
of experience in pump technology. The present instructions will
assist you during commissioning and operation of the pump. If

To ensure fast and smooth processing of your requests, always
indicate the serial number of the pump. The appropriate
seven- or nine-digit number has been punched on the
nameplate of the pump and on the outside of the discharge
branch.
These instructions must be read in conjunction with the
separate User's Safety Manual and the Motor Operating
Instructions.

1. Handling and intermediate storage

1.1

Handling

• Heed the weight and the center of gravity.
• Do not subject power and control cables to strain.
Avoid hitting the pump against massive objects during handling
and transport!

Proper handling
• Pump units with an overall length of more than
4 m must be handled at the specified fixing points
to avoid sagging.
• If necessary, use a reinforcement or transport
case if the pump must be transported in a
horizontal position.

Unpacking

Check that the delivery is complete and undamaged. If any
defects are found, have them confirmed on the original bill of
lading by the carrier and report these defects to us immediately.
1.3

Intermediate storage

• Storage location: must be free of dust, dry and protected
against heat and frost.
• Protect against direct sunlight.
• Store the pump unit in a vertical position and with the
discharge branch pointing upwards.
• Turn the pump rotor every month by turning the shaft. Change
the shaft position in relation to the last position.
• Long-time storage of more than 3 months: preservation
required!

Preservation

On special request, we preserve the pump before delivery.

2. Description

Submersible motor pumps with interstage casings screwed
down individually. Various motor designs and various material
and installation variants are available. The pump units are fitted
with an integrated non-return valve and a NEMA motor
connection.
The pumps are suited for delivering non-aggressive clean cold
water without solid or abrasive particles. A sand content of up
to 30 g per m³ of water is not critical.
Other media or water with higher sand contents may only be
pumped if expressly permitted in our order confirmation.
