Assembly of platform guard rail, lateral, plug-in

The platform guard rail and the rail hold-
er are pre-assembled. The platform
guard rail can be mounted at the left as
well as at the right.
While assembling the platform guard rail
on the platform steps/bridging steps and
platform steps, the dimension "Y" (23)
must be observed for the first rail holder
starting from the steps.
The dimension "Y" is as follows:

the rail holder).
• Align the pre-assembled rail holders (18/2) with
brackets (18/1) starting from the front platform sec-
tion end (dimension "Y") with 3 M8x20 socket screws
(18/3) with plain washers and the slot nuts.
• Align the other rail holders at the spacing of the plat-
form guard rail supports. Plug the platform guard
rails into the rail holders (23/1) and align the holders
to the rail supports.
• Tighten the rail holders with socket screws (18/3) (25
Nm).
• Insert the locking pins (23/2) and lock them by turning
the clips (23/3).
• It should be possible to remove the platform guard
rail easily and without seizing.

Assembly of platform guard rail, front, double-sided
• Insert the intermediate rail (24/4) between the side
platform guard rails and fix with two M6x65 socket
screws (24/3) and (24/5).
• Insert the rail tube (24/1) between the side platform
guard rails and fix with two M6x65 socket screws (24/
2) and (24/6).
• Mount the footboard, refer to Section 5.2.13.
Assembly of platform guard rails, front, single-sided
• Push the guard rail fasteners (25/5) over the rail
clamp (25/1) till the relevant rail support is aligned to
the guard rail fastener (20/3) (holes must be aligned).
Install the mounting nut (20/5), do not tighten it.
• Place the intermediate rail (25/4) on the rail tube (25/
1) and fix with M6x65 socket screws (25/6).
• Use two M8x70 mounting screws (20/2) with plain
washers each to install the guard rail fastener in the
slot nuts.
• Place the intermediate rail (25/4) on the side platform
guard rail and fix tightly with M6X65 socket screw (25/
3).
• Place the rail tube (25/1) on the platform side guard
rail sideways and fix tightly with M6X65 socket screw
(25/2).
• Tighten the M8x70 mounting screws (20/2) of the rail
mount with a torque of 17 Nm.
• Tighten the mounting nut (20/5) with a torque of
17 Nm.
• Mount the footboard, refer to Section 5.2.13.

Assembly of platform guard rail, front, plug-in

The front platform guard rail and the rail
holder are pre-assembled.
When assembling the platform guard rail
on the platform steps/step platforms, the
dimension "Z" (26) must be observed for
the first rail holder starting from the side.
The dimension "Z" is xyz mm, measured
from the section border up to the rail
holder.
During the re-assembly of the front plug-
in platform guard rail, two additional
holes are to be made by the customer for
fixing the rail holder (Detail A).
• Align the two pre-assembled rail holders (18/2) with
mounting components. Screw the rail holders with
brackets lightly (18/1) starting from the front plat-
form section end (dimension "Z") with 3 M8x20 socket
screws (18/3) with plain washers and the slot nuts.
• Plug the platform guard rail (26/1) into the rail hold-
ers (26/2) and (26/3) and align the holders to the rail
supports.
• Tighten the rail holders with screws (18/3) (25 Nm).
• Insert the locking pins (23/2) and lock them by turning
the clips (23/3).
• It should be possible to remove the platform guard
rail easily and without seizing.
5.2.13 Assembly of footboard and angle installation of standard plat-
form guard rails
If the system is equipped with a front plat-
form guard rail, the front footboards (27/
2) must also be screwed tightly while as-
sembling the lateral footboards.
• Fix the lateral footboards (27/3) with two M6x50 lock
screws each with plain washers and cap nuts (27/4)
and (27/1) to the rail supports with a torque of 8 Nm.
• When using a standard platform guard rail, two an-
gles (Detail A) must also be installed along with the
lateral footboards for mounting the front footboard.
5.2.14

Assembly of hooks

• Screw the hooks (28/1) with two M8x25 counter sunk
screws, plain washers and nuts each on both lower
holes (28/2) of the wall fastening brackets (28/3).
• Tighten the nuts with a torque of 30 Nm.
5.2.15

Assembly of supports

• Fix the supports (29/2) with three M5x20 Phillips
screws plain washers and nuts each on the ground
brackets (29/1).
