Using the smartphone

You can connect your smartphone and view the smartphone screen on the monitor of this unit. To use a navigation
application of the smartphone, connect the GPS antenna (only for GPS-compatible smartphone applications in
"MirrorLink"). (☞ page 74 )
Notes on volume adjustment:
• To adjust the volume of the sounds coming from your smartphone, perform the operation on your smartphone or
change <Volume Adjust> in <Audio>. (☞ page 47)
• Before disconnecting your smartphone, turn down the volume of the smartphone.
• The volume of a smartphone is smaller than that of another source. Be careful when changing to another source,
as the volume may be too loud.
Preparation
Select the protocol to transmit data from your
smartphone — "MirrorLink" or "MHL".
• You can change the setting only when no
smartphone is connected.

Display the <Input> screen.
On <HOME> screen:

MHL Displays the screen displayed on your
smartphone.
• You cannot perform the operations on
the monitor of this unit.
MirrorLink Virtually "mirrors" applications on your
smartphone screen directly on the touch
panel screen.
• You can operate the applications on
the touch panel screen as well as on
your smartphone screen.
Connecting your smartphone
Connect your smartphone using the smartphone cable.

• To use a navigation application, also connect the GPS
antenna.
