Tightening torques
Warning
The tightening torque of the clamping screws on the seat post depends on the seat post model. However, do not use a seat post for
which the tightening torque of the bolts on the seat stay clamp is specified by the manufacturer to be greater than 18 Nm. Exceeding
the tightening torque can lead to fibre cracks or pinching, which can cause a steering failure that could cause a crash.
Warning
Even a short ride with one or more loose screws on the seat post can damage the seat stays so much that they can no longer be
used safely.
• Check the tightening torque of the clamping screws on the seat stays after 20–50 km and then at least four times annually for the
correct torque and tighten if necessary. When checking the tightening torque, make sure not to exceed the maximum tightening
torque.
• Never ride with a loose saddle.
Observe the tightening torque of the saddle clamping stated in the operating inst-
ructions for your seat post.
Never exceed the maximum tightening torque of 18 Nm. If there is a conflict between
the torque specifications, please contact your dealer.
This may lead to an impairment of product safety and damage with consequent bre-
akage. In such case, the saddle frame may suddenly and unexpectedly break during
use and an accident could occur.
