Combustion control

When the stove is still fairly cold, the flames of the
main burner are very blue during ignition. As the stove
heats up to operating temperature, the flames will
gradually become yellower and will approximate the
effect of a real wood fire.
Heating recommendations
It is best to leave the pilot on during the heating sea-
son as one will have less trouble with condensation
forming on the window and it will stay clean longer.

Resolving problems

Refer to the appendix "Diagnostic diagram" to resolve
any problems in using the appliance.

Maintenance

Follow the maintenance instructions in this chapter to
keep the appliance in good condition.
Annual maintenance for the
appliance
The appliance must be maintained and inspected by
an expert once per year. This service should include
at least the following:
Dust and otherwise clean the combustion chamber
and ducts for the air supply and the flue gas
exhaust.
Inspection and leak check of both the air and flue
gas ducts and the roof or facade lead-though.
Dust and otherwise clean the burner. Use a
vacuum cleaner to remove the dirt from the burner.
Dust the ceramic logs.
Please note: these logs are extremely fragile.
Do not use hard or abrasive materials or com-
pressed air to spray off dirt.
Clean and check the main nozzle.
Disassemble and clean the pilot flame nozzle and
thermocouple.
Check the air tightness of the gas pipes.
Check the remote control, replace the batteries if
necessary.
24
Operation test: ignition of pilot flame, ignition of
main burner, operation of the remote control.
Access to the most important com-
ponents
Access to a number of internal components of the
stove is required to perform annual maintenance.
1. Open the door; see the "Installation" chapter for
instructions.
2. Remove the decorative wood block set from the
stove.
The pilot and thermocouple can now be reached for
maintenance or possible replacement.
Cleaning and other regularly
maintenance
Do not clean the appliance when it is still
warm.
Clean the exterior of the appliance with a dry lint-
free cloth.
Cleaning the glass
Dirt clings less easily to well-cleaned glass. Proceed
as follows:
1. Remove dust and loose soot with a dry cloth.
2. Clean the glass with stove glass cleaner:
a. Apply stove glass cleaner to a kitchen sponge,
rub down the entire glass surface and give the
cleaning agent time to react.
b. Remove the dirt with a moist cloth or kitchen
tissue.
3. Clean the glass again with a normal glass cleaning
product.
4. Rub the glass clean with a dry cloth or kitchen tis-
sue.
Do not use abrasive or aggressive products to
clean the glass.
Wear household gloves to protect your hands.
If the glass in the appliance is broken or
cracked, it must be replaced before you can
use appliance again.
Subject to change because of technical improvements
