Check by smell whether any gas is still present
around the stove, including near the floor.
If you detect any gas odour, stop immediately.
See the last warning in the chapter "Safety". If
no gas is present, proceed to the next instruc-
tion step.
4. Press the manual pilot regulator (7) all the way in
and continue pressing to start the pilot gas flow.
Ignition with a match:
Ignite the pilot directly with a match while keeping
the manual pilot regulator pressed in for approx-
imately one minute after the pilot is ignited. Then
release the manual pilot valve regulator. If the pilot
goes out, wait for five minutes and repeat the
instruction above.
Piezo ignition:
Move the ignition cable from the receiver to the
valve; see the previous figure. Press the Piezo
ignition. If the pilot goes out, wait for five minutes
and repeat the instruction above.
If the pilot continues to go out after several
attempts, switch the gas regulator button (main
valve button) to OFF and proceed to step (8).
5. If applicable, put the pilot access panel back in
place before continuing.
6. Turn the MANUAL button to the ON position,
entirely counter-clockwise
7. Turn the MANUAL button to the ON position,
entirely counter-clockwise
8. If the appliance does not work, follow the instruc-
tions under "Switch off gas to stove".

Switch off gas to stove

If the gas regulator is accessible, turn the main valve
button to the OFF position, completely clockwise
.
If the stove will not be used for an extended
period, close the gas valve in the gas supply
pipe as well.

Combustion control

When the stove is still fairly cold, the flames of the
main burner are very blue during ignition. As the stove

heats up to operating temperature, the flames will
gradually become yellower and will approximate the
effect of a real wood fire.
Heating recommendations
It is best to leave the pilot on during the heating sea-
son as one will have less trouble with condensation
forming on the window and it will stay clean longer.

Resolving problems

Refer to the appendix "Diagnostic diagram" to resolve
any problems in using the appliance.

Maintenance

Follow the maintenance instructions in this chapter to
keep the appliance in good condition.
Annual maintenance for the
appliance
The appliance must be maintained and inspected by
an expert once per year. This service should include
at least the following:
.
Dust and otherwise clean the combustion chamber
and ducts for the air supply and the flue gas
exhaust.
Inspection and leak check of both the air and flue
gas ducts and the roof or facade lead-though.
Dust and otherwise clean the burner. Use a
vacuum cleaner to remove the dirt from the burner.

Please note: these logs are extremely fragile.
Do not use hard or abrasive materials or com-

Clean and check the main nozzle.
Disassemble and clean the pilot flame nozzle and
thermocouple.
Check the air tightness of the gas pipes.
Check the remote control, replace the batteries if
necessary.
Operation test: ignition of pilot flame, ignition of
main burner, operation of the remote control.
