Safety Check!

WARNING.
ALWAYS attach yourself to the safety lanyard when engine is
running. Before setting off as a precautionary measure always test lanyard for its
functionality by pulling away from its seating – engine should always stop.
WARNING.
NEVER operate the boat when bathers are using the boarding ladder,
risk of serious injury exists from reverse deflector.
WARNING.
NEVER investigate engine bay with engine running or
ignition on.
Starting Your Turbojet
Ensure boat is in a depth of at least 0.6m/2ft of water.
1 Turn on battery isolator.
2 Run bilge blower for 4 minutes.
3 Secure any loose ropes that could get sucked into
jet unit.
4 Ensure shift lever is in neutral position.
5 Connect safety lanyard to switch.
WARNING.
Personal injury may result if not
attached.
6 Turn ignition key until engine starts.
7 Test safety lanyard for correct functionality
(see Safety Check!).
Note: At least 10 seconds should be given before turning off
battery isolator when engine is switched off. Data capture within the engines ECU will be lost if
this is not followed.

Warning Lights

ECU malfunction (1) This lamp will illuminate if there is a fault with the engine management
system. If this occurs, STOP the engine and refer to Williams authorized dealer.
Exhaust temperature (2) This lamp will illuminate if the open loop coolant supply is restricted.
After restarting a hot engine it is normal for the lamp to stay on for up to 30 seconds. If the
lamp stays on for longer than 30 seconds or comes on
when engine is above idle, STOP the engine and check for
restriction in coolant system.
Low oil pressure (3) If this illuminates, STOP the engine
and refer to a Williams authorized dealer.
Servicing (4) When light illuminates engine service is
needed; consult your Williams authorized dealer.
Service light will illuminate after every 60 hours of use.
WARNING.
No service light will illuminate for the initial
12 hour service interval, this service is required no
later than after 25 hours of use. Refer to Maintenance
schedule.

Oil Level Check
The engine must be at operating temperature before an accurate level is indicated on
the dipstick.
The oil level should be between MIN and MAX on the dipstick. Do not screw cap in to check
level. Use the correct grade of oil – recommended 0W40 fully synthetic.
Do not overfill.

Safety Whistle (U.S. only)
To comply with current NMMA regulations, included within your
tender pack is a safety kit, this kit should be kept with the tender
whilst in use. The safety kit includes:
Safety Whistle
Use the whistle to draw attention in an emergency.
Shaft Seal Lubrication
Shaft seal lubrication is provided by an automatic
grease unit. Inspect reservoir level approximately every
10 hours of operation. Use a premium, multipurpose
calcium sulphonate grease or equivalent high
temperature grease to refill reservoir. Take care not to
over-pressurise system. DO NOT exceed maximum
level indication.
