11. CLEaNINg aND MaINTENaNCE

Apart from occasional cleaning and battery replacements, the meter requires no servicing.
Switch off the device before cleaning it.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or petrol, alcohol or the like to clean the
product. They will damage the surface of the meter. Furthermore, the fumes are hazard-
ous to your health and explosive. Also do not use any sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers,
metal brushes, etc. for cleaning.
Use a clean, lint-free, antistatic, slightly damp cloth for cleaning the device or the display. Allow
the product to dry completely before you use it again to conduct measurements.
Never operate the meter when it is open.

12. DISPoSaL

a) Product
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household waste. Dispose of
the product according to the applicable statutory provisions at the end of its service
life. Remove any inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/re-
chargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries that contain any hazardous substances are
labelled with the adjacent icon to indicate that disposal in domestic waste is
forbidden. The descriptions for the respective heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium,
Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the names are indicated on the battery/rechargeable battery
e.g. below the rubbish bin symbol shown on the left).
You may return used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection
points in your community, in our stores, or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment
