• The calibration data in this table have been determined in the scope of standardised tests
by furnace drying of goods samples of the respective wood type between 7 % moisture and
fibre saturation. values displayed above the fibre saturation point (25%–30%) are merely
approximates. They generally apply only to wood that has been dried and then moistened
again.
• The measuring instrument has been calibrated with a temperature of 20 °C (68 °F).
If the temperature of the wood deviates by more than 5 °C, the display value can be cor-
rected approximately by adding 1/2% per 5 °C below 20 °C and deducting 1/2% per 5 °C
above 20 °C.
• If the wood has been treated with a water-based wood protection agent, the displayed value
may be 1–2% above the actual value.
• For some laminated woods with special composition, very high values are displayed. These
are only partially indicative and therefore should be treated with caution.
• Under reference to the following table, you can get the moisture value of the construction
materials or chipboard.
Example: If a value of 12 is measured in a construction material from scape A, the construc-
tion material moisture of 13.3 may be determined with reference to the following table. If the
measured value is at 20, reference to the following table will lead to construction material
moisture of 20.6.
