Disassembling the ignition electrodes
The ignition electrodes (Item
9) are subject to wear and
tear caused by thermal stress.
Contact problems may also
occur because of transition
resistances that arise on
the threading (M3 DIN 13)
ignition wire holes. The
electrodes can be loosened
and replaced by turning
them counterclockwise!

Caire and maintenance

All tasks described in this section must be
performed only by a knowledgeable professional!
All tasks performed on the fittings of the
decomposition vessel require a leak test to be
performed again. In addition, we refer you once
more at this point to the Regulation for pressure
devices 2014/68/EU.
Disassembling the discharge valve seals
If the mobility of the valve mandrel has been
adversely affected
then no further tests
should be made! The valve mandrel must
be located somewhat above the surface
of the valve base and must be movable in
an axial direction! (see the section entitled:
Performing combustions)
Check the decomposition vessel (see the
section entitled Checking for leaks/evacuate
/insing) or disassemble the discharge valve
and check to see if it is soiled or worn!

vessel with the two-hole nut driver.
Of the two seal rings that are
externally visible, only the upper
O-ring seal (Item 34) can be
Item
removed without being destroyed.
34
The lower O-ring seal ring (Item 35)
must only be disassembled by separating. If the seal ring is already
lifted out of the groove, however, it must not be used again! Make
certain the seal rings are in perfect conditions.
New seal rings must never be screwed into place
with a tool!
The valve mandrel (Item 26) and the valve shaft (Item 25) can
be screwed apart from each other
counterclockwise with a screwdriver.
The screwed connection is spring
loaded! You can keep the valve shaft
from turning with finger pressure.
For reassembly, finger-tightness is
sufficient. The valve seal (Item 13)
is located on the valve shaft (Item
25) and must be destroyed during
disassembly.
The valve mandrel (Item 26) and
compression spring (Item 27) are free
after disassembly, while the pressure
ring (Item 29) and the O-ring (Item
28) are within the valve screw (Item
23).
The installed upper O ring (Item 13) must be destroyed during
disassembly. In this case as well, no tool must be used on this
O-ring during reassembly!

Check the holding surfaces on
the valve shaft and valve screw
to make certain they are in
perfect working order!
Repair
Please only send devices in for repair that have been clea-
ned and are free of materials which might present health
hazards.
For this, use the "certificate of compliance" form which you can
obtain from IKA or can download a version for printing from the
IKA website at www.ika.com.
If your appliance requires repair, return it in its original packaging.
Storage packaging is not sufficient when sending the device - also
use appropriate transport packaging.

Checking for overload

After the permissible operating
pressure of 1200 bar is exceeded
by a factor of more than 1.4, the
pressure ring (Item 12) will beper-
manently deformed! This in turn
places excess pressure on the cover
Item 12
nut with the cover. The decompo-
sition vessel with no pressure on it
can then only be opened with difficulty!
In cases such as these, check the evenness of the pressure ring!
If you notice unevenness in the pressure ring or that there
is mechanical resistance when you set the cover in place,
please contact our technical service department and send
the decomposition vessel in to the factor to be checked!
No tests must be performed!
Another way to test the decomposition vessel for overload is to
measure the diameter of the bottom part.
Check whether the bottom part bulges because of overload. Mea-
sure the diameter at several points along the entire length of the
bottom part. Use a measuring instrument with a resolution accurate
to at least 0.02 mm to do this.
If you notice there are deviations
in the dimensions in the middle
area of the bottom part, please
contact our technical service
department
and
send
the
decomposition vessel in to the
factory to be checked!
No further tests must be performed!
