Dispersing tool S 8 N - 8 G
For cleaning purposes, the dispersing element can be dismantled
as follows:
- Unscrew rotor (4) from shaft (2)
- push shaft upwards
- draw off bearing bushing (5) from
rotor shaft and replace it in case
of wear
- push bearing bushing (3) out of shaft
and replace it in case of wear
The assembly is carried out
vice-versa.

Maintenance, Cleaning and Sterilisation

Disperpersing elements
Cleaning:
Immediately after the instrument has been used, the
dispersing element must be cleaned so that the threads of rotor
and stator do not stick together with remains of the substance.
For this purpose the dispersing element is operated in a solvent
that removes the remains of the substance, yet does not attack
the PTFE-bushings and the anticorrosive steel. Because of the
high velocity of flow, rotor and stator are already largely cleaned
this way. For a thorough cleaning, however, the dispersing ele-
ment has to be dismantled, as also the inner walls of the shaft
tube are wetted by the medium.
Sterilisation:a) Chemical processing
By bactericidal solvents (formalin, phenol, alcohol)
many cases of disinfection can be solved. It is
important that the disinfectants are subsequently
removed with sterilised water.
b) Germ destruction by moist heat
This is carried out by saturated steam with an
excess pressure of 2 bar at 120°C.
c) Germ destruction by hot air
The hot air sterilisation is generally carried out at
160°C and/or 190°C.
The PTFE-bushings (3) and (5) of the dispersing elements have to
be supervised. If they are damaged, the medium ascends due to
the suction effect of the rotating shaft, and can reach the drive unit
this way. So if medium penetrates from the upper lateral bore hole
on the shaft tube, any operation has to be interrupted immediate-
ly, the PTFE-bushings have to br checked and replaced if required.
(Dismantling as described before).
The efficiency of rotor and stator depends on the state of the teeth
chamfer. The dispersing effect can be impaired, if due to abrasive
media there is a rounding of the teeth.
