To set the rest and transportation position, follow the same steps as in "a" above until rotating the
blades fully parallel to the tube.
4.5- Brush Cutters and Grass Trimmers
4.5.1- Safety protective guard assembly (Fig.16 & 17)
Assemble the protective guard using the three bolts and hex key supplied.
Line up the three holes, fix and tighten the three bolts using the hex-key supplied
4.5.2- Metal blade assembly (Fig.18)
Note: use gloves whenever handling the blade, to avoid any injury hazard.
Align and insert retaining plate (o) into the drive shaft.
Set the metal blade (B5) on retaining plate (o).
Position locking plate (p) on the blade (B5).
Insert nut (g) inside the locking plate (p) and tighten with the wrench (e).
Ensure that the blade is tightly and firmly assembled.
4.5.3- Nylon spool assembly (Fig.19)
Note: Remove the metal if fitted
Store the blade retaining plate (o), locking plate (p), nut (g) and blade in a safe place.
Mount nylon spool (B6) onto the threaded end of the drive shaft and tighten it.
Remark: use long nose pliers (not provided) to hold the drive shaft so as to avoid it rotating when
tightening the spool.
WARNING! Do not use the line cutting head without the plastic protective guard.
REMARK: remove the cutter protection before using the lawn trimmer.
4.6- Fitting the belt (Fig.20+21)
Clip the the hook (q) of the belt (A5) to the anchor point (A6) on power unit tube.
Adjust the length and comfort.
The belt is fitted with a quick release system (r) (Fig.21).
Pull the tag (r) to quickly releasing the belt from the tool (note that the hook (q) will remain
attached to the anchor point (A6)).
Note: balance the unit so that attachment head stays parallel to the ground when standing in your
normal working position.
4.7- Before starting the machine - Connection
- This tool may only be connected to single-phase 230V AC source.
Ensure that the voltage of the mains power supply matches the operating voltage indicated on the
tool's rating plate.
- Connect the power plug to the coupling of an appropriate extension cord.
- Form a loop with the extension cord, and hook it over the cable holder (A12).
4.8- Starting the machine (Fig.22)
- Switching on: Press the safety switch (A4) and then press the trigger switch (A3).
- Switching off: Release the trigger switches (A3).
Warning! The cutting means (eg: blades/nylon lines/chain) continue to move for a few seconds
after the tool is switched off.
Wait until the cutting means come to a complete standstill before placing the machine down.
Caution! Do not touch the moving cutting means (i.e. chain, blades, nylon thread).
