5.3- Sawing
5.3.1- Plunge cut
W
! A plunge cut is only suitable on soft materials such as wood, plaster board...
ARNING
Do not make plunge cut on metal materials, construction materials; hardened plastics.
To make a plunge cut, use only a short blade.
Before starting to cut, trace a cut line on the workpiece.
Place the tool with the edge of the shoe plate (2) on the workpiece and switch
it on.
Set the variable speed knob to the maximum.
With the shoe plate, apply a slight pressure against the workpiece and slowly
plunge the blade into the workpiece.
Once the shoe plate (2) is fully flat on the surface of the workpiece, keep on
sawing along your cut line.
5.3.2- Sawing against a surface
By using a flexible bi-metallic blade, it is possible to saw
with a bowed blade for ex. protruding water pipes.
Lay the saw blade directly against the wall and apply
some side pressure on the tool until the shoe plate rests
against the wall surface.
Switch the tool on and saw the workpiece, while
maintaining constant side pressure.
Note: the blade must always extend beyond the diameter of the workpiece, so as to avoid the danger of
kickback
5.3.3- Cutting metal
Use blades intended for metal.
The blade must always extend beyond the diameter of the workpiece, to avoid kickbacks.
When sawing metal, apply lubricant or coolant along the cutting line.
Do not apply excessive pressure on the blade; let the blade work as its own speed.
