4. Installation
Risk of serious or even fatal injury from
contact with quickly or suddenly escap-
ing compressed air, or from bursting plant
components.
Preventive action:
• Avoid sudden and quick opening of
shut-off devices!
• Do not exceed the maximum permissi-
ble operating pressure and temperature
(see type plate)!
• Make sure that no persons or objects
can be damaged by escaping com-
pressed air or condensate.
• O nly use pressure-resistant installation
material!
For installation and maintenance work,
wear appropriate personal protective
equipment (safety goggles, light breathing
protection, protective gloves, and hearing
protection).

4.1 Installation requirements

Particles, oil and condensate must be reli-

ably removed from the compressed air. To
achieve this, a CLEARPOINT
x x
(0.01 µm) is integrated into the housing
x
of the membrane dryer. At high levels of

contamination or where large volumes of
x
condensate occur, it might be necessary
to install additional CLEARPOINT
filters (1 µm) and CLEARPOINT
separators.
For the prefiltration requirements, see fig-
ure to the left.

4.2 Installation instructions

• To facilitate maintenance, we recom-
mend installing a bypass line (1).
• The purge air outlet covered with a
screen (2) must not be obstructed.
• The installation room must be free of
chemical substances, and no such sub-
stances must be released by other
equipment installed near the device.
• The device must be installed in a room
where the ambient and the compressed
air temperature does not exceed the
permissible range of +35 to +140 °F.
• Clean the pipeline system thoroughly.
(If necessary, blow it out.)
• Seal all threads with Teflon tape.
--> Do not use liquid sealants.
• Position the device so that the filter can
be replaced easily and without causing
damage to the membrane dryer.
