FUNCTIONS

Power Supply

This allows for the connection of an external power source (without having to incorporate
the module ref. 3243), so the splitter insulates the power from the bus and powers the
risers of output B1 and B2 via local power sources.
In the case that the street panel does not have local power, the splitter has the option of
powering the input riser as well (Powering Risers+panels mode).

Regeneration.

This allows an increase in distances from the point (location) in which the riser is installed,
since it amplifies and regenerates the signal.
Notes:
- Sufficient signal must arrive to the input in order to reconstruct and retransmit it.
- Minimum input data signal: 0.5 Vp (no ripple). This signal can be measured via the Duox
Programmer ref. 3254.

Insulation.

The splitter provides insulation between the three parts of the installation it is connecting
(input and two outputs). If for example there is a short circuit in an output riser, the other
riser is not affected. In this case via the signals LED it indicates which riser is short
circuited.
The splitter insulates against short circuits and riser load. Complying with the
requirements of the notes on the previous page.
Signal distributions.
It detects through which riser the signal arrives and distributes this information to the
other two risers.
Devices concatenation.
The riser generated from an splitter output (powered by the splitter itself), has its number
of terminals limited depending on the installation topology. If more terminals are necessary
another output from the splitter module can be used or concatenate and connect more
splitter modules. See diagram.
If the splitter module does not include a power source, the limit of telephones is no longer
dependant on the splitter´s power capacity and is determined by the voltage drop. In the
worst case operating conditions, the last telephone connected to this riser must receive
at least 15V and this depends on the wiring and the supported load of telephones.
Up to 4 devices can be concatenated in parallel and on each output a new splitter can be
inserted (maximum 2 levels).
