DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

The product you have purchased is a low pressure,
industrial axial fan for extraction directly to the outsi-
de. It is designed for use in applications where no
load loss is to be be overcome. It must not be used to
extract dusty air or acid or corrosive fumes (fig. 1).

• Do not use this appliance for functions other than
those described in this booklet.
• After removing the appliance from its packaging,
ensure that it is complete and undamaged. If in
doubt contact a professionally qualified electrician or
Vortice*. Do not leave packaging within the reach of
children or infirm persons.
• If you decide to stop using the appliance, switch it
off and disconnect it from the power supply.
• Store the appliance out of the reach of children and
infirm persons if you decide to disconnect it from the
power supply and no longer use it.

flammable atmospheres or to extract acid or

• Regularly inspect the appliance for visible defects.
If any faults are found, do not operate the appliance;
contact Vortice* immediately.

Ensure that only genuine original Vortice spares are
used for any repairs.
• Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavy
blow, have it checked immediately by Vortice*.
• This appliance must only be installed
and serviced, externally or internally,
by professionally qualified personnel.
• Switch off the appliance at the installation's main
switch: a) if the appliance does not function
correctly; b) before cleaning the inside or outside of
the appliance, c) if the appliance is not to be used
for any length of time.
• Ensure that the electrical system to which the
appliance is connected complies with applicable
standards.
• Specifications for the power supply must correspond
to those on the appliance's data plate.
• The circuit in which the appliance is installed
must have an overload protection device
calibrated to suit the nominal current shown on
the appliance's data plate.

• The electrical power supply/socket to which the
appliance is to be connected must be able to
provide the maximum electrical power required by
the appliance. If it cannot do so, arrange for a

thermomagnetic cutout, with a contact gap of at
least 3 mm.
• If the appliance is installed outdoors, ensure that
adequate weather protection is provided.
• Operating temperature from -25°C to +40÷70°C.
• Do not cover the appliance's intake and outlet.
• Only fit the specified accessories over the intake
and outlet.
• Make sure that the room is adequately ventilated to
ensure proper air circulation.
• Do not allow dust to build up on the motor. This can
prevent correct cooling. Regular maintenance is
essential for correct functioning and to achieve the
declared levels of performance. Follow the
instructions in the figures on page 44 to perform the
necessary mechanical maintenance.

Do not submerge the electric motor in water or
any other liquid.
