DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

The product you have purchased is a medium
pressure, industrial axial fan for air extraction into a
ventilation duct or directly to the outside. It is
designed for installation in ventilation ducts or for

Warning:
• Do not use this appliance for functions other than
those described in this booklet.
• After removing the appliance from its packaging,
ensure that it is complete and undamaged. If in
doubt contact a professionally qualified electrician or
Vortice*. Do not leave packaging within the reach of
children or infirm persons.
• If you decide to stop using the appliance, switch it

Ensure that only genuine original Vortice spares are
used for any repairs.
• Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavy
blow, have it checked immediately by Vortice*.
• This appliance must only be installed
and serviced, externally or internally,
by professionally qualified personnel.
• Switch off the appliance at the installation's main
switch: a) if the appliance does not function
correctly; b) before cleaning the inside or outside of
the appliance, c) if the appliance is not to be used
for any length of time.
• Ensure that the electrical system to which the
appliance is connected complies with applicable
standards.
• Specifications for the power supply must correspond
to those on the appliance's data plate.
• The circuit in which the appliance is installed
must have an overload protection device
calibrated to suit the nominal current shown on
the appliance's data plate.
• This appliance must be connected to an efficient
earthing system in compliance with applicable safety
standards. If in doubt, ask a qualified electrician to
check your system.
• The electrical power supply/socket to which the
appliance is to be connected must be able to provide

(e.g. boilers, gas stoves, etc.) are installed in the
same room, make sure that the air supply is
sufficient for this appliance and to ensure correct
combustion in the other appliance too.
• This appliance must not be used to switch on and
off boilers, heaters etc., nor must it discharge air into
the fume flues of such appliances.
• Do not cover the appliance's intake and outlet.
• Only fit the specified accessories over the intake
and outlet.
• Make sure that the room is adequately ventilated to
ensure proper air circulation.
• Do not allow dust to build up on the motor. This can
prevent correct cooling. Regular maintenance is
essential for correct functioning and to achieve the
declared levels of performance. Follow the
instructions in the figures on page 44 to perform the
necessary mechanical maintenance.
N.B.
Do not submerge the electric motor in water or
any other liquid.
