11. TROUBLE SHOOTING

If, following several attemps, the engine of the pump still does not start, please refer to following table.
Then, if the pump cannot start, please contact the IMER France dealer or the nearest After-Sales
Service to get information and to be instructed with measures to take.
THE ENGINE CANNOT START:
Make sure position of the Speed Control lever is
correct [Fig.13]
Make sure the fuel cock is opened [Fig.12]
Check fuel level
Check the injection pump
THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPS:
Out of fuel
LACK OF POWER FOR THE ENGINE:
Air filter clogged
THE ENGINE CORRECTLY RUNS WHEN IDLE BUT SPUTTERS WHEN LOADED:
Engine speed is too low
WHITE EXHAUST SMOKE APPEARS FROM THE ENGINE:
Engine overloaded
Not enough combustion air
Incorrect fuel (Diesel) used
Faulty fuel injection pump
Incorrect engine valve clearance
BLACK EXHAUST SMOKE APPEARS FROM THE ENGINE:
Incorrect fuel (Diesel) used
Faulty fuel injection pump
Incorrect fuel injection time
Engine burns engine oil

Put the Speed Control lever to the RUN (FAST)
position
Open the fuel cock if it is closed
Fill up the tank in case it is empty. Do not overfill it
Contact your IMER France dealer
Fill with fuel
Replace the air filter
Move speed control to RUN (FAST) position
Reduce the load
Clean or replace the air filter
Use specified fuel (see page 31)
