3.4. CONTROLLING COMPONENTS
Before starting the engine, control the following points:
Fuel leaks on fuel hoses, etc;
Tightening of screws and nuts;
Parts damaged or broken;
Vicinity of the pump.

3.5. PUMP PLACEMENT

For best pump performance, place the pump set near the water level, and use hoses that are no
longer than necessary. That will enable the pump set to produce the greatest output with the least
self-priming time. [Fig. 08]
As head increases, pump set output decreases, the length, type and size of the suction and discharge
hoses can also significantly affect pump output. Minimizing suction head (placing the pump set near
the water level) is also very important for reducing self-priming time.

4. HOSES CONNECTIONS

Check following points before starting engine:
Check the general condition of the hoses;
Ensure that the suction sealing washer is in good condition;
Ensure that the strainer is in good condition and is installed on the suction hose.
To ensure to obtain the best performance from your pump, the suction and discharge hoses must not
exceed the useful lengths. The pump's efficiency is the best when it is placed close to the water level.
The automatic self-priming time is also proportional to the length of the hose.
Suction and discharge hoses must have a suitable diameter to achieve maximum performance.
