6. USE

NOTE
The flow of the pump is controlled by adjusting the engine speed. The flow rate is increased by
moving the speed control to RUN (HIGH SPEED) position [Fig. 13]. The flow rate is reduced by
moving the speed control to SLOW (IDLE) position [Fig. 20].
When the engine is warm :
1.
For self-priming, place speed control to RUN (HIGH SPEED) position [Fig. 13];
2.
Adjust the pump flow using the speed control lever.
□ Do not crush the suction and discharge pipes [Fig. 18].
□ Protect the suction and discharge hoses from possible vehicle passages and avoiding to trample
the suction and discharge hoses.

7. STOPPING THE PUMP

■ Prior to disconnecting the water fittings, make sure the pump has stopped.
■ Never disconnect the fittings when the pump is running.
□ If the delivery hose is equipped with a valve, stop the engine before closing the valve [Fig. 19].
7.1. STOPPING THE ENGINE (DIESEL)
Move speed control to SLOW (IDLE) position [Fig. 17] during 1 minute, then to the STOP position
1.
[Fig. 20];
2.
Close the fuel cock [Fig. 21];
3.
Slightly pull the starter rope until it becomes a bit difficult. Let it come back to initial position
[Fig. 14].
7.2. IN CASE OF LOW TEMPERATURE (≤ 0°C)
After stopping the engine:
1.
Disconnect the suction and discharge hoses;
2.
Empty water from suction and discharge hoses;
3.
Tilt the pump to drain the water from the pump casing throught the discharge flange.
