Maintenance

Attention! All maintenance work can be done with-
out any tools.
6.1

Inspection of the sensor

6.1.1 ISM functionality

The ISM (Intelligent Senor Management) offers the
user much information about the InPro 6880 i sensor
and its history. (See also the manual for the Trans-
mitter O
Predictive).
The Predictive Menu gives Information about the num-
ber of SIP cycles (sterilization in place) , the number
of CIP (cleaning in place), the autoclaving cycles, the
numbers of opto-cap exchanges, the spot operation
time and the difference of the KSV between the first ca-
libration of the opto-cap (factory calibration if the sen-
sor is new) and the actual calibration.
The value for KSV depends on the number and the con-
ditions of the SIP, CIP and autoclaving cycles and can
be used as wear monitor. The user can observe the
changes of this value in correlation to its individual pro-
cess conditions to evaluate the wear of the opto-cap.

6.1.2 Visual inspection

To check your sensor, we recommend the following
procedure:
• The contacts of the connector must be dry.
Moisture, corrosion and dirt in the connector can
lead to false readings.
• Check the cable for buckling, brittle areas or
ruptures.
• Before calibration always examine the opto-cap
optically for signs of damage. The opto-cap must
be intact and clean. Dirty surface should be
wiped clean using a soft, moist tissue.
Attention! Do not use any cleaning agents containing
alcohol. This could damage the sensor or lead to
fault current.
