4. Use of stationary and portable canisters

1) Check level indicator (1 & a) to see if the canister contains
enough oxygen. If not, ask the distributor to come and refill
the stationary canister.
Comments:
- A low level is programmed by the distributor.
- When the level drops bellow the minimum threshold,
display unit blinks and a BEEP every minute is audible.
- To stop the audible alarm, press the key
- After 5 minutes, the audible alarm is automatically cut off
in order to protect the battery lifetime.
- An indicator shows the state of charge of the level indicator
battery :
1 : continuous display : charge OK
2 : blinking display: replace battery
3 : no indicator display: setting mode
4 : no display: battery is out of order.

3) Connect fitting of humidifier (12 : stationary canister only)
to oxygen outlet (11).

2) Check the water collect-
ing bottle (8 & f) is clean and
empty the put it into place.
4) Unscrew bottle (13) from
humidifier and fill it with wa-
ter to the fill line.
(Cf the humidifier instruc-
tions).
5) Screw bottle under its lid.
Squeeze enough the cover
to block any leak.
6) Connect your oxygen tub-
ing (15) (or connect directly
the nasal cannula) to hu-
midifier outlet nipple (5).
The length of the tube be-
tween the FREELOX sta-
tionary canister must be in-
ferior to 15 meters to pro-
vide a sufficient oxygen flow
rate. For the portable canis-
ter, the cannula must be di-

8) Check that there is a steady flow of bubbles in humidifier
(when used).
9) Check that oxygen is flowing out of the inhalation device
(nasal cannula or other device) by placing a finger in front
of the outlet opening(s) (or by placing the opening(s) on the

Note:
Empty water collecting bottle (8 : stationary canister) when
it is half full. Clean it whit soapy water, then dry it before use
it again. The piece of felt in the condensation collection tray
(portable canister) must be dried after each use.

7) Turn flow rate selector
knob (4 & c) clockwise to the
prescribed flow rate (in li-
ters/minute up to 7 l/mn).
Comments:
- the selector contains a stop
which limits flow to the pre-
scribed rate. Do not force
the knob beyond this limit.
- be sure that the selector
knob is correctly positioned.
The FREELOX delivers no
oxygen flow when the se-
lector knob is between two
values.

10) Adjust the inhalation
device (nasal cannula or
other device not shown).
11) At the end of use, turn
off the unit by setting the
flow rate selector knob to 0.
It is recommended to fill the
portable canister just before
use. Because oxygen in port-
able canister evaporates,
even not in use.
1) Check that the level in
stationary canister is greater
than 1/4.
2) Remove all traces of
humidity on filler opening
(3) of the FREELOX assem-
bly using a clean lint-free
cotton cloth.
