These vacuum cleaners are supplied
with separate operating instructions for
the relevant accessory part.

Use

Unwind the power cord (Fig. 10)
The lower cable hook swivels.
 Turn it upwards to release the cable.
Adjusting the telescopic suction
wand (Fig. 11)
(depending on model)
One part of the telescopic suction wand
is packed inside the other, and it can be
adjusted to suit your height for comfort-
able vacuuming.
 Press the release button and adjust
the telescopic suction wand to the re-
quired length.
Plugging in the vacuum cleaner
(Fig. 12)
 Plug the vacuum cleaner into a
socket protected by at least a 10 A
fuse.
 When vacuuming hang the cable over
the cable hook on the vacuum
cleaner (see detail).
This way the power cord will not get in
the way during vacuuming. It also pro-
tects the cable from becoming kinked
at the handle.
Switching on and off (Fig. 13 + 14)
There are two separate switches on the
carrying handle to enable the vacuum
cleaner to be conveniently operated in
any vacuum-cleaning situation.

Double slide switch
0 = Vacuum cleaner is switched off
min. = Reduced suction
max. = Maximum suction
Select min. for vacuuming lightweight
items such as curtains or rugs.
Select max. if using a turbobrush.
 To switch the vacuum cleaner on,
slide either switch to max.
 To switch the vacuum cleaner off,
push the slide switch to 0 until it
clicks.
Adjusting the floorhead (Fig. 15 + 16)
This vacuum cleaner can be used for
daily cleaning of carpets, rugs and ro-
bust hard flooring.
Miele offers a range of other floorheads,
brushes, and accessories for other
types of flooring and special applica-
tions (see "Optional accessories").
Please observe the flooring manufac-
turer's cleaning and care instructions.
Vacuum carpets and rugs with the
brush retracted:
 Press the foot switch  .
Clean hard flooring which is not sus-
ceptible to scratching, and flooring with
gaps or deep crevices in it with the
brush protruding:
 Press the foot switch .
