Maintenance

The maintenance is esse ntia lly l imited to refill ing the re s-
ervoir with clean lubricant in good time . Howe ver, check
regularly whether the lubricant is really dispensed to all
the lubrication points.
Al so check the main lines and lubricant feed lines for
damage and replace them, i f necessary.

NOTE
Whenever work is done on the centra-
lized lubrication system , particular atten-
tion should be paid to absolute cleanli-
ness. Dirt in the system will cause prob-

lems.
For cleaning the system use be nzine or petroleum. Do not
use tri-, perchloroethylene or similar solvents.
Also do not use polar organic solvent s such as alcohol,
methylacohol, acetone or similar.
Fill the reservoir with grease via the filling nipple (se e
fig. 9-1), via the filling fitting for cartridges (see fig. 9-2) or
via the upper filling opening with oil up to the "Max." mark.
It is possible to use greases up to penetra tion class
NLGI 2 or mineral oils of at least 40 mm²/s (cST).
IMPORTAN T
When filling the reservoir, vent bore A
must not be closed:
- in order to enable the escape of air
- in order not to impede the proper suc-

tion behaviour of the pump during opera-
tion
NOTE
If t he reservoir has been completely
em ptied, the pump may require up to
10 minutes bef ore it operates at full out-

IMPORTANT
The grease or oil must be free from im-
purities and must not be liable to change
its consistency in the course of time.

ATTENTION!
Risk of bursting if the reservoir is over-
fi lled! When filling the reservoir by means
of pumps with a large delivery volume do
not exceed the max. filling mark.

CAUTION!
Danger of squeezing in case of pumps
to be filled from the reservoir top:
Never put your hand into the open res-
ervoir while pump is running!
