SAFETy RuLES

The dental operating lamp, used to light the operating site, should be used exclusively
by medical staff in a dental practice.
• The device should be cleaned before use (see the section "Cleaning the
device").
• The package of the lamp is suitable to protect the same against external agents.
• Do not use the lamp if any of its parts are damaged.
• Do not use the lamp without the front screen: risk of projection of parts or
irritation.
• The device should be installed exclusively by qualified staff.
• The dental operating lamp should be installed on a specific control and power
device such as dental units, or equipped with electrical system compliant with
standard IEC 60364-1 and the "national installation standards for electrical
installations in medical locations".
• The device should be installed with an omnipolar circuit breaker compliant
with standard IEC 61058-1.
• Should the lamp be installed on a dental unit, the installer should ensure its
compliance with standard IEC 60601-1.
• Make sure the supply voltage specified on the data plate matches the mains
voltage.
• Do not clean the plastic parts of Edi lamp with disinfectants containing:
AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE - SODIUM HYDROXIDE - METHYLENE
CHLORIDE - METHYL ALCOHOL.
Failure to comply with this provision may lead to:
• risk of damage and subsequent rupture of plastic parts.
Should you have any doubt, contact The Customer Care Faro.
• Do not carry out any maintenance intervention on the lamp when the power
is on; disconnect the power cord from the mains before proceeding.
• Do not insert in the slots the head of the lamp, objects or equipment that could
come into contact with parts under voltage.
• Do not fix nor point the light beam directly to patient's eyes especially in the
case of patients at increased risk of eye injury (e.g. children with eye
conditions). In this case, always use suitable protective equipment and adopt
due caution: Faro suggests you use safety goggles BLUE-BAN or BABY
BLUE-BAN (for children).
