Maintenance work

1. Check all parts for deformation and damage and replace them, if
necessary.
CAUTION
!
Neither retighten nor remove the nut at the ball joint of the
mask/helmet adapter. Otherwise, the function of the mask/
helmet adapter will be impaired.
Both mask/helmet adapters can have a different ball joint
mobility, which will not impair their functionality.

During maintenance work, the exhalation valve cover may
come off the cap (Figure A1-10 and 11 on Page 3). The
exhalation valve cover can be easily hooked back into the
cap.
2. Following any maintenance work and/or replacement of
components, repeat the leak test.
4.4.1 Replacing the visor
1. Unhook the cap from the visor frame on both sides (Figure F1-1 on
Page 3).
2. Push the bottom part of the cap up with your thumb and remove
the cap from the fixing lugs (Figure F1-2 on Page 3).
3. Pull the cap upwards to remove it from the facepiece.
4. Remove the screws of the visor frame.

6. Pull the visor frame apart, tilt it towards the front and pull it off
sideways.
7. Remove the visor from the rubber frame (Figure F2 on Page 3).

Moistening either the mask body or the visor frame facilitates
assembly.
Note the centre marking on the visor.
8. Centre the new visor when inserting and make sure that it is
properly seated in the mask body.

10. Place the cap on the connector, snap it into the fixing lugs and
hook it into the visor frame.

The cut-out for the connector varies depending on the
facepiece. Make sure that the following caps are used:
for P and RA facepieces: cap R 56 278
for PE and ESA facepieces: cap R 56 378

9. Apply pressure to the visor frame until it snaps into
place at the centre of the visor, then tighten with
new self-locking screws until the gap is shut.

helmet adapter onto the mounted visor frame,
then tighten with new self-locking screws until the
gap is shut.
