Product Description

Intended Use
The impulse valve is a fast-switching, pneumatically
controlled high-performance needle valve for the
contactless application of sprayable lubricants in con-
tinuous or intermittent operation. Aggressive media
such as acids, bases, cleaning agents, chemicals
and the like must not be sprayed/pulsed under any
circumstances.
Labelling
The impulse valve is labelled according to the model
code (Figure A/No. 6).
Function
Alternating activation of the air piston (electric 4/2-
way magnetic valve) opens and closes the nozzle
needle directly on the nozzle output. Short paths
within the entire air supply system and this switching
magnetic valve permit up to 100 switching cycles
per second. When the control air supply is shut off
or fails, a spring closes the valve. The lubricant is
supplied to the valve from a pressure reservoir or by a
pump depending on the viscosity.

Assembly / Installation

The product is to be set up or installed at the inten-
ded use site under due consideration of the following
conditions:
• At the location and site all applicable provisions of
law must be clarified and compliance with them
assured.
• The ground and space relations are to be clarified
prior to set-up/installation of the product in order
to assure safe operation for the personnel and the
product long-term. The product must be set-up/
installed so that safe, permanent operation is
assured.
• The product may only be set up and commissioned
by specially trained technicians.
• The product is constructed for rooms that are pro-
tected from the influence of the weather (industry
standard).
• The operation and storage in aggressive or humid
environments or outdoors can lead to corrosion
damages.
• The valves can be installed in any position.
• The distance to the application surface depends on
the desired application pattern.

• Intermittent valve operation results in natural reso-
nance. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the
valve is firmly mounted using the three mounting
bores provided (Figure D/No. 10). Excessive natural
resonance (transferred from the machine to the
valve) must be prevented.
