Commissioning

• The lubricant supply hose must be filled with lubri-
cant before connecting an impulse valve (bleeding
process).
• Then connect the supply hose to the medium input
(Figure A/No. 3).
• Connect control air for the 4/2-way valve to the
pneumatics connection (Figure B/No. 8).
• Wire the electric control signal according to the
schematic (Figure C).
• The maximum flow volume has to be adjusted
during commissioning. In order to do so, loosen the
locking screw (Figure A/No. 5) and turn the dosing
screw (Figure B/No. 7) to the rear stop (display:
100%).
• Adjust the dosing volume for application by
changing the
- flow volume using the adjustment screw
- medium pressure (if applicable with the optional
material pressure regulator or directly with the
pump pressure)
- control air pressure
- magnetic valve opening time
until the application quality is correct.
CAUTION
Do not aim the jet at people.
Wearing eye protection is highly
recommended. Depending on the
material conveying pressure, the
spraying process may be accom-
panied by noise. Hearing protection
should be worn if needed.
• Re-tighten the locking screw (Figure A/No. 5).

Operation

• The impulse is started by activating the directly
flange-mounted magnetic valve. The cycle time that
can be achieved depends on the viscosity of the
lubricant, the material and pneumatic pressure, and
the magnetic valve control that is used and/or its
minimum opening and closing times.
• As a rule, the impulse valve works with a control air
pressure of 5 – 6 bar and material pressure up to
100 bar. For consistent application, ensure that the
air and lubricant supply is constant without fluctua-
tions and the lubricant viscosity does not change.
22
• Depending on the application case, the control
air pressure has to be adjusted to the switching
frequency that is used on the one hand and the
higher or lower material pressure on the other hand.
Under corresponding operating conditions (material
pressure, control air pressure, needle stroke,
short lines), up to 100 cycles per second can be
obtained.
CAUTION
Do not aim the jet at people.
Wearing eye protection is highly
recommended. Depending on the
material conveying pressure, the
spraying process may be accom-
panied by noise. Hearing protection
should be worn if needed.

Packing, Transport and Storage

The product will be prepared for transport to its first
destination by ABNOX. The packing unit may not be
subjected to any excess load. The packaging and
its content must be protected from moisture. The
transport temperature must be kept between – 20°C
and + 40°C.

Transport Damages

If transport damages are discovered during the
inspection of incoming goods, this procedure must
be followed:
• Inform delivering party (freight carrier, etc.)
• Make record of damages
• Inform supplier

Storage

Storage and temporary storage in aggressive or
humid environments or outdoors can lead to
corrosion and other damages. The storage
temperature must be kept from – 20 °C to +40°C.

Training of Personnel

Only trained and instructed personnel who have read
and understood all points of the Operating Manual
may work on the product. Likewise the individual
operating states must be mastered, and the related
safe aspects must be known and they must be able
to implement them. Personnel undergoing training
may only work on the product under the supervision
of qualified personnel.

Fault Localisation, Troubleshooting

CAUTION
Remediation of any of the faults
described below may only be
carried out by a trained technician.
Fault
Possible cause
The impulse valve switches but
The feed pump is not supplying
no lubricant is ejected

The impulse valve switches but
Material pressure too low
no lubricant is ejected
The dosing valve is leaking
The control air pressure/
counter-pressure of the spring is
too low
The dosing valve is leaking
Defective seals

EN
Corrective action
Consult the operating manual for
the feed pump
Increase pump pressure
Increase the control air pressure
Install a stronger spring
Replace seals
Loosen supply hose. Bleed system.
Then re-tighten supply hose.
Replace seals
