1 Description of appliance and functions

1.4 Brief overview of control functions

Basic setting "First Use Setting" After the appliance is switched on for the first time at the ON/OFF switch 8, and
the most important basic settings are set in the <First Use Setting> menu (see
"section 4.2" page 59), the appliance is ready for operation.
Optimised treatment programmes The appliance is equipped with optimised treatment programmes, which can be
selected using the function buttons d (see "section 5" page 60, "section 6.7"
page 66 and "section 6.8" page 67).
Changing settings before or during The settings for a particular treatment can easily be changed before or during the
treatment treatment with the function buttons d, by following the menu (see "section 6.9"
page 68).
Changing appliance settings and default If no treatment is under way, the appliance settings and default treatment pro-
treatment programmes grammes can be changed using the SETTING button g, so that they become the
defaults the next time a treatment is selected (see "section 7" page 72).
Cancelling treatment You can cancel a treatment that has started or exit a submenu by pressing the
CLEAR button e.
Customer button The treatment temperature can be lowered by approx. 4°C (degress Celcius) by
pressing the customer button 4.
In customer button display 5 the colour blue = reduced treatment temperature
lights up instead of red = standard treatment temperature (see "section 6.2"
page 62). At the same time, the display f visually tells the hairdresser that the
temperature for that customer has fallen.

1.5 Part treatments

Part treatments In all treatment programmes (except <Care>) the heating elements 1 can be
switched on or off individually, e.g. only the bottom or top heating elements 1
(see "section 6.9.4" page 69).
In addition, in the treatment programme <Drying> the heating elements' 1 fans
can be switched on or off (see "section 6.9.4" page 69).
