Functions of the crown

Normal position
The watch has a screw-down crown. The screwed arrangement (normal,
position X) prevents unintentional adjustment of the time or the date,
and the case has double protection against the ingress of water. The crown
is released is released by rotating it to the left, when it automatically as-
sumes position 0, the winding position. The crown can be screwed down
firmly again by pressing on the crown in position X and rotating it to the
right at the same time.
Winding position
In this position (position 0), you can also wind the automatic movement by
hand, by rotating the crown to the right. A few rotations of the crown are
sufficient to start the movement. It is better to perform full winding, how-
ever, as the maximum power reserve of seven full days will then be available
even when the watch is not worn.
Power reserve display
The power reserve display is divided into 7 days, and the display is continu-
ous. The watch is wound constantly by the winding mechanism when it is
worn, and you can monitor this on the power reserve display. The marking in
the area for the last day tells you that the power reserve is about to run out.
You should then wind the watch by hand, if necessary, because the accuracy
of the escapement can be reduced in this area.
Setting the date
If a month has fewer than 31 days, you must reset the date to the first day of
the following month. You should avoid doing this between 21:00 and 01:00,
because the date is changed to the next day by the movement during
this period. Move the crown to position 1. By rotating it to the left, you can
now advance the date (quick change).
Setting the time
Move the crown to position 2. With the crown in this position, the movement
will stop and with it the second hand. You can now set the watch to the
precise time (make sure that the date changes at 24:00, and not at 12:00).
Press the crown again in position 0 to restart the second hand.
Important: Although the watch is water-resistant in positions 0, 1 and 2,
the crown must be screwed down again (position X) for normal use of the
watch.
