Reading the time in darkness
The dial, hour hand and minute hand of your watch are provided with luminous
elements for reading the time without difficulty even in total darkness.
The triangle at 12 o'clock serves as a reference point.
Water resistance
Your Big Pilot's Watch is water-resistant to a depth of 60 metres. To prevent
the possibility of internal damage to your watch, your horologist must carry
out a water-resistance test after each service.
Recommendation: To ensure the water resistance of your watch, we recom-
mend that you have your watch tested once a year by an authorized
IWC Official Agent.
Service for your Big Pilot's Watch
All the component parts of this watch are made from the finest materials.
Certain parts are nevertheless subject to natural wear. It is particularly impor-
tant for the bearings to have optimum lubrication at all times and for con-
tamination of the oil due to metal-to-metal abrasion to be remedied in good
time. Accordingly, we recommend you to have a maintenance service per-
formed on your watch about every 4 years. You should get in touch with an
authorized IWC Official Agent or directly with IWC Customer Service in
Schaffhausen.
