WARNING! The user must not perform any activities that could lead to a lower
level of safety.
Before starting the use of the device read this manual and observe the following rules for eliminating the risks and take appropriate
precautions.
The device should be used only in accordance with its intended purpose (see sec. 3.1).
It is prohibited to let children under 8 years of age use the device.
It is prohibited to use the device for other purposes than those specified in this manual.
Do not introduce any unauthorised changes in the structure of the device.
Do not let children play with the device and its controls (including the remote control).
Do not use of the device when it is damaged.
Make sure that all the cables are connected properly.
Watch the moving door and keep persons away from it, until the door is fully opened or closed.
Be careful during the manual release of the mechanism, as an open door may quickly fall due to weakened or broken spring or due
to unbalance.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.
Do not expose the drive to rain or moisture.
Do not pull the power cord to unplug the plug from the socket, keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing, use common sense when using the motorized garage door; do not use the door when you
are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
Prevent accidental starting of the device.
Do not ignore safety rules, even when you have operational skills acquired during frequent work with the device.
Do not overload the door with the drive, use them as intended.
If the switch does not switch into on and off position - do not use the drive. Disconnect the power supply. Operate the door
manually (activate the manual release mechanism) and call the service team to remove a fault.
Systematically check the entire system, especially cables, springs and fixing elements (for wear, damage or imbalance).
Do not use the motorized garage door, which requires a repair or adjustments, after noticing a damage or unbalance
(which my lead to injury).
Every month, check whether the drive reverses the door motion after detecting an obstacle with a height of 50 mm,
lying on the floor.
Perform maintenance activities on the device and check its technical condition (fixing parts) for any malfunction.
Any repairs or adjustments of the drive with the door must be commissioned to an authorized service centre.
Keep handling surfaces clean, dry and free of oil and grease.
The device should be serviced by qualified person and only identical replacement parts should be used.
STARCUS K06 and K10 STARCUS drives are designed and constructed in accordance with the current state of the art and the applicable
standards. Despite the efforts of the manufacturer to ensure safety and eliminate hazards in the use of the drive installed with a garage
door, some risks cannot be avoided during its operation. Typically they result from improper use of the motorized garage door. The residual
risk may be generated in exceptional cases, resulting particularly from non-compliance with the operating instructions or from a careless
operation of the device.
The greatest danger occurs when performing prohibited operations described in sec. 2.1 and 2.2, and during the following activities:
using the device in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose,
using the device by children under 8 years of age.
using the device without supervision or prior instruction by children over 8 years of age and persons with reduced capabilities
(physical or mental),
exposing the device to extreme temperatures.
The residual risk may be minimized by observing the following recommendations:
carefully read and observe the operating instructions of the drive and garage door.
This equipment may be used by children at least 8 years of age and persons with
reduced physical or mental capabilities and people without experience and
knowledge on the device, only under supervision or after providing them with
instructions on safe use of the device, which sufficiently explain any potential
risk. Children should not play with the device. Children should not be allowed to
perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
