Strictly follow the Instructions for Use

Any use of the chemical protective suit requires full
understanding and strict observation of these instructions as
well as the Instructions for Use of other products used with the
suit. The chemical protective suit is only to be used for the
purposes specified herein.
1.2

Maintenance

The chemical protective suit must be inspected and
maintained regularly by properly trained service personnel.
This procedure must be recorded in a protocol (see Chapter 11
on Page 36).
We recommend contracting with Dräger for maintenance and
service, otherwise the proper functioning of the suit may be
impaired.
Only original Dräger parts may be used for maintenance,
otherwise the proper functioning of the suit may be impaired.
Observe chapter 7.1 on page 27.

Instructions for Use
While reading this manual, you will come across a number of
warnings concerning some of the risks and dangers you may
face while using the device. These warnings contain signal
words that will alert you to the degree of hazard you may
encounter. These words, and the hazard they describe, are as
follows:

avoided, could result in death or serious injury.

avoided, could result in physical injury, or damage to

Description

Dräger CPS 7900 are gastight chemical protective suits
according to EN 943-2:2002 (1a-ET). They can be reused.
A self-contained breathing apparatus is required for air supply.
The self-contained breathing apparatus, full facepiece and
safety helmet are worn inside the chemical protective suit. For
possible combinations see Chapter 2.5 on Page 24.
The chemical protective suit is equipped with replaceable
gloves.
Depending
on
combinations of gloves are available (see Page 32).
The chemical protective suit can be equipped with socks in suit
material or boots. Socks typically do not provide sufficient
protection against mechanical stresses and strains and so
must be worn with safety boots approved in accordance with
EN ISO 20345. A guard prevents the ingress of foreign
substances between socks and safety boots.
The visor is provided with a scratch proof screen on the outside
of the suit.
The chemical protective suit features a pocket for radio units
and a push-to-talk button flap. The pocket is labeled with the
type ID.
The chemical protective suit can feature the following optional
components:
– Regulating valve PT 120 L or Air-Connect:
ventilation unit for the connection of various air supply
sources with and without cooling system for the inside of
the suit.
– D-Connect:
mount for the attachment of additional equipment (e.g.
thermal imaging camera, measuring instruments, slings);
can be fastened on the left or right hip.
– Crotch strap:
to adapt the suit length
– Antifog visor in the suit:
prevents the visor from fogging up
– Manometer mounting below the visor:
for the attachment of the compressed air breathing
manometer in the field of vision of the user
– Task force ID number:
for easy recognition of the task force team

Intended use

Chemical protective suits protect against gaseous, liquid,
aerosol and solid hazardous materials and infectious agents.
They also protect against the incorporation of radioactive
particles.
