3 Use
3.1 Preparations for use
Use mask spectacles, if necessary.

3.2 Donning the full face mask and checking the
functional integrity
1. Remove the carrying strap.
2. Pull the harness apart, then put your
chin into the chin cup of the mask body.
3. Pull the harness over your head and
draw it backwards.
4. Adjust the full face mask.
5. Pull the straps until evenly tightened;
first the neck straps (1), then the temple
straps (2), finally the front strap (3).
6. Don the helmet, close the chin strap
and check that the helmet fits firmly on
the head. Tighten the chin strap if
necessary.
7. Press the button and insert the lung
demand valve in the connector.
8. Release the button and check if the
lung demand valve has snapped into place.
9. Seal the tailpiece with your thumb and inhale until a negative
pressure is created. Hold your breath for a moment.
The negative pressure should remain. Otherwise, adjust the
straps. No air may enter the full face mask from the outside.
10. Repeat the last 2 steps twice.

11. Check the exhalation valve: Seal the tailpiece and exhale
vigorously.
The exhaled air must be able to escape through the exhalation
valve without obstruction. If not, replace the exhalation valve.
12. Connect the overpressure self-contained breathing apparatus or
overpressure airline equipment.
13. Check the proper fit by turning and pulling the lung demand valve
vigorously.
Have a second person check the tightness and correct connection.
WARNING
!
Make sure that the full face mask is perfectly tight!
If the full face mask leaks, there is a danger of inhaling toxic
substances!
