2.2 Description
The facepiece has a plug-in connector. It is designed to be used with
approved positive pressure compressed air breathing apparatus or
positive pressure airline equipment. Special facepiece spectacles are
available for users who wear spectacles.
The facepiece can be used within a temperature range between
–22 °F to +140 °F (–30 °C to +60 °C). Lower or higher temperatures
are permitted when the exposure time is short.
2.3 Intended use
The facepiece protects the face and the eyes against aggressive
media.
2.4 Approvals
The facepiece has been certified by NIOSH in compliance with title
42, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 84. Only combinations that are
approved by NIOSH may be used in the USA (see approval label of
the respective breathing apparatus).
Furthermore, the facepiece
EN 136:1998 CL.3+ and (EU) 2016/425. In addition, it meets the flame
engulfment requirements stipulated in EN 137.
