4.4.4 Replacing the speech diaphragm or O-ring
1. Pull the nose cup out of the groove in
the screw ring.
2. Unscrew the threaded ring with the pin
spanner.
3. Turn pin spanner around and carefully
insert it in the holes of the protective
screen. Do not damage the diaphragm.
4. Twist the speech diaphragm loose and
remove it.
5. Remove the O-ring from the equipment connector using the
sealing ring lifter.
6. Check the speech diaphragm and O-ring and replace, if
necessary.
7. Attach the nose cup. Make sure that the edge is positioned in the
groove all around. The midposition markers of the equipment
connector and in the nose cup must line up.
4.4.5 Replacing the exhalation valve disk
1. Visually inspect the exhalation valve disk (see Chapter 4.3.3 on
Page 108).
2. Fit the exhalation valve cover. Ensure that it engages.
4.4.6 Replacing the inhalation valve disk
1. Pull the equipment connector out of the facepiece body (see
Chapter 4.4.2 on Page 109).
2. Remove the old valve disk and fasten the new valve disk.
3. Insert the equipment connector in the facepiece body (see
Chapter 4.4.2 on Page 109).

Dräger rubber products are treated with an agent to protect against
premature aging which in some cases is visible as a gray-white
coating. This coating can be washed off with a brush and soapy water.

Dispose of the facepiece according to local waste disposal
regulations.

Loosen the straps of the head harness as far as possible.
Wipe uncoated visors with an antistatic cloth. Do not wipe coated
visors.
Make sure that the facepiece is dry.
Store the facepiece in its bag or carrying box.
Store the facepiece in a dry, dust-free place where it will not be
deformed.
Keep the facepiece out of direct sunlight and heat.
Storage temperature: +5 °F to +77 °F (–15 °C to +25 °C).
Observe ISO 2230 and national guidelines for storage,
maintenance and cleaning of rubber products.
