cutter bar (Fig. 10).
Tighten the fastening nut (C) of the chain
wheel cover (Fig. 8).
Important! All of the chain links must lie properly
in the guide groove of the cutter rail.
Notes on tensioning the chain:
The saw chain must be properly tensioned to
ensure safe operation. You can tell that the chain
tension is perfect if the saw chain can be lifted by
around 2 mm in the middle of the cutter rail. As
the saw chain heats up during cutting and thus
changes in length, check the chain tension no
less than every 10 minutes and adjust it again
as required. This applies in particular to new saw
chains. When you have fi nished working slacken
the chain again, as the chain will shorten when it
cools down. This will prevent the chain from being
damaged.
Saw chain lubrication
Warning! Always disconnect the mains plug
before performing any checks or adjustments. Al-
ways wear protective gloves when working on the
chainsaw to protect yourself against injury.
Notice! Never operate the chain if it is not lub-
ricated with saw chain oil. Use of the chainsaw
without saw chain oil or if the oil level is below the
"min" mark will damage the chainsaw.
Notice! Be aware of the temperature conditions:
diff erent lubricants with completely diff erent
viscosities are required at diff erent ambient tem-
peratures. At lower temperatures you will need
low viscosity oils in order to achieve a suffi cient
lubricating fi lm. However, if the same low viscosity
oil is used during the summer it will become even
thinner due to the ambient temperatures alone,
and as a result the lubricating fi lm could break
down, causing the chain to overheat and become
damaged. In addition, the chain oil would burn
and produce unnecessary pollutants.
Filling the oil tank (Fig. 10a):
Place the chainsaw on a flat surface.
Clean the area around the oil tank cover (Item
21) and then open the oil tank cover.
Fill the tank (Item 20) with saw chain oil. In
the process, make sure that no dirt enters
the tank, as this could cause the oil nozzle to
become blocked.
Close the oil tank cover (Item 21).

Adjusting the tilt angle (Fig. 10a - 10c)
Important: Disconnect the power plug before you
adjust the tilt angle.
The saw head can be tilted to make the work as
easy as possible. Pull the safety lever (Fig. 10a/
Item 22) towards the rear. Then grasp the rod (Fig.
10b/Item E). Press the locking lever (Fig. 10b/Item
23) using your index fi nger and release it again
when the tilt angle is set to the position that you
want. Make sure that the lever latches in place
correctly. Then push the safety lever (Fig. 10c/ 22)
forwards again.
Important: When you have fi nished, make sure
that the safety lever and the locking lever are lat-
ched correctly.
Important: The gear unit can become hot during
operation.
Fitting the shoulder strap
Important: Always use the shoulder strap when
working with the hedge trimmer. Switch off the
equipment before you take off the shoulder strap.
There is a risk of injury.
1. Hook the carabiner into the strap holder as
shown in Fig. 11/Item G.
2. Slip the shoulder strap over your shoulder.
3. Adjust the length of the shoulder strap so that
the strap attachment is at waist level and you
can work without fatigue.
Note:
The shoulder strap is equipped with a safety
release (Fig. 11 / Item F) which you can use to
quickly detach the shoulder strap from the hedge
trimmer in case of danger. To operate the safety
release, pull it downwards.
Adjusting the handle
Important: Disconnect the power plug before you
adjust the handle.
Press the lock release (Fig. 11 / Item 15) to
move the handle to the desired position (-90°/-
45°/0°/45°/90°).
Make sure that the lock release latches in place
correctly!
