4.1. Connection

Mains supply connections must comply with the
national requirements regarding medical rooms.
Prior to connection of this apparatus to the mains
supply, check that the voltage and frequency
stated on the type plate correspond with the avail-
able mains supply.

4.2. Connection mains cable

Connect the supplied mains cable to the con-
nection mains cable [21].
Connect the mains cable to a grounded safety
socket.

4.3. Switching on and self test

Switch on the unit using the On/Off button [1].
Immediately after switching on, the unit carries
out a self test.
Check that:
All LED's and displays light up briefly.
At the end of the test a beep can be heard.
Contact your supplier if this is not the case.

4.4. Installation

Do not install the unit in a location near to a heat
source such as a radiator.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, rain, excessive
dust, dampness, mechanical vibrations and
shocks.
Cordless telephones should not be used in close
proximity of the unit.
This unit should not be used in so-called "wet-
rooms" (hydrotherapy rooms).
The unit has to be installed in such way that liq-
uid cannot enter.
Connection of accessories other than ones speci-
fied by the manufacturer can adversely affect the
safety of the patient and correct functioning of
the equipment, and is therefore not permitted.
Should any liquid ingress into the housing of this
equipment, unplug the unit from the wall socket (if
connected) and have it checked by an authorised
expert.

CHAPTER 4 - INSTALLATION

4.5. Electromagnetic interference

Operation in close proximity (i.e. less than 2
metres) to working shortwave or microwave
therapy units may produce instability in the
ELTRAC 471 output.
To prevent electromagnetic interference, we
strongly advise using separate mains groups
(phases) for the ELTRAC 471 and the shortwave
or microwave equipment, and a distance of at
least 2 metres is kept between the ELTRAC 471
and the shortwave or microwave equipment.
Ensure that the mains cable of the shortwave/mi-
crowave unit does not come near the Endomed
or the patient.
If problems with electromagnetic interference per-
sist, please contact your authorised distributor.
