THE VISOR
Reference images on page 70
The scratch-resistant AX9 helmet polycarbonate visor has a mechanism that al-
lows a rotation movement.
The visor is attached to the shell through holes at both ends.
The fastening elements and their positions also ensure its movement. The shaped
tooth on the inside of the visor interacts with the grooves of the moving mecha-
nism, to ensure stability in the different opening positions (img. 01).
The moving mechanism allows for 5 positions of use:
• 1 visor closed, recommended when travelling at high speed.
• 1 micro opening, creating a small space between the visor and the visor edge, to ensure a mod-
erate air flow when travelling at slow speed.
• 2 intermediate positions, for partial opening of the visor.
• 1 fully open and fully up position. This position is only appropriate whilst putting the helmet on,
with the vehicle stopped.
We recommend that all removal and reassembly activities are completed with the helmet on a flat
support base.
REMOVAL
Fully close the visor. Using a screwdriver or a coin, start working on one of the fastening mecha-
nisms on the sides of the helmet.
Loosen and remove the screw, together with the plastic anti-rotation plate (img. 02), detaching
the visor from the shell.
Repeat on the other side and remove the visor.
INSTALLATION
Start on the fastening mechanism on one side of the helmet.
Using a screwdriver or a coin, join the components together (img. 02) and tighten the screw to a
torque of 1,5 Nm.
Repeat on the other side and then try to open and close the visor to ensure that its movement is
correct.
CLEANING
For optimum cleaning, remove the visor from the helmet and clean using a soft cloth and warm
water. If the visor is very dirty, add some neutral detergent. Rinse the visor under running water
and dry with a soft cloth. Cleaning is easier and more effective immediately after using the helmet.
Please note! Never use petrol, benzene, glass cleaners, abrasive products or chemical sol-
vents, as they could compromise the properties of the visor. Never attempt to remove dirt or sed-
iments from the visor using sharp or pointed objects. Do not place the visor to dry nearby heat
sources.

THE PINLOCK
®
Reference images on page 72
The Pinlock
anti-fog insert is supplied with the AX9 helmet and must be fitted on
®
the inside of the visor. Made of moist absorbing plastic material, this inserts re-
duces the formation of fogging. It has been designed to perfectly adapt to the shape
of the visor, creating an insulating and hermetically sealed air chamber that does
not compromise the field of vision.
Please note! Anti-fog devices delay the formation of condensation, but do not prevent it from
occurring. This means that with anti-fog inserts, it simply takes longer for condensation to form.
Mist can and will form on the visor under certain environmental conditions. We recommend that
Pinlock
inserts are always used with air temperatures below 20° C and humidity levels exceeding
®
70%. We recommend that Pinlock
®
inserts are always used when it's raining.
To install the Pinlock
®
insert, we recommend that you first remove the visor from the helmet.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the Pinlock
®
insert on the internal surface of the visor, making sure that the silicon
seal is in contact with the visor itself.
2. Secure the left side of the Pinlock
®
insert to the visor by placing the ratchet found on the left on
the inside of the visor in the shaped hollow found on the left side of the insert (img. 03).
3. Slightly bend the Pinlock
®
insert (img. 04) and help it adhere to the visor.
4. Secure right side of the Pinlock
insert to the visor by placing the ratchet found on the right
®
on the inside of the visor in the shaped hollow found on the right side of the insert (img. 05).
5. Make sure that the silicon seal on the edge of the Pinlock
along the whole perimeter (img. 05).
6. Remove the protective film on the Pinlock
in the previous chapter.
REMOVAL
Starting from one end of the visor, detach the Pinlock
of the visor.
Slightly bend the insert.
Detach the other end of the Pinlock
®
insert from the ratchet and remove the insert.
Please note! The Pinlock
insert must be handled with the utmost care to avoid surface
®
scratches or abrasions.
CLEANING
To clean the Pinlock
®
insert, use a soft liquid detergent and a soft cloth dampened with warm
water. Before refitting it again, make sure to leave it to dry for at least one day.
Please note! Never use abrasive tools or products when cleaning the Pinlock
use liquids containing ammonia or alcohol. Do not rub dry.
