Sélection des vitesses par poignée rotative
En tournant la poignée (1) située sur la manivelle droite dans le
sens des aiguilles d'une montre, vous sélectionnez un dévelop-
pement plus grand, adapté à une allure plus rapide. En tournant
la poignée dans le sens antihoraire, vous sélectionnez un dé-
veloppement plus court, adapté à une allure plus lente.
En montée, vous pouvez en plus avoir recours au système à
planétaires Moutaindrive.
Passage des rapports du Mountain-Drive
Le boîtier de maindalier du Handbike est réducté : toutes les vit-
esses sont divisées par 2,5, permettant de gravir les pentes plus
facilement. La démultiplication selon un facteur 2,5 s'applique à
toutes les vitesses sélectionnées au niveau de la roue arrière : le
nombre de rapports disponibles est doublé. Une simple bouton
vous permet de sélectionner le mode « montagne » ou de revenir
à un braquet standard. La sélection est possible même à l'arrêt

Appuyez sur le bouton du côté gauche du boîtier pour sélec-
tionner le mode « montagne » (mode réducté)

Appuyez sur le bouton du côté droit (2) du boîtier pour revenir
au braquet « normal ».
Handbike en mode tandem
En combinaison avec l'attache universelle (accessoire) et un Kett-
wiesel, le Handbike peut être utilisé en tandem. Le Handbike peut
aussi bien être le vélo tracté que le vélo tracteur, selon que l'atta-
che universelle est installée sur l'un ou l'autre vélo.
La roue avant du vélo tracté est déposée et la fourche fixée sur
l'attache universelle du vélo tracteur.
Quand le Handbike est le vélo tracté, vous ne devez en aucun cas
tenter de le diriger en inclinant le manche, sous peine d'endom-
mager le système de direction.

Riding your Handbike
Shifting gears with the twist shifter
Turn the twist shifter (1) on the right crank handle clockwise to
shift to a higher gear for faster riding or counterclockwise to shift
to a lower gear for slower riding.
When riding uphill, you can also engage the Mountain Drive gear
system.

Shifting gears with the Mountain Drive gear system
A gear system with gear 2.5 times reduction is built into the crank
assembly of the Handbike, making it easier to ride uphill. By press-
ing a button, you can switch to a lower gear ratio, "mountain gear",
and back again. This button can be pressed to engage the system
at any time, even when the rider is not pedaling or the trike is
stopped.

Press the button on the left side of the crankset to shift into
"mountain gear" (gear reduction).

Press the button on the right side (2) of the crankset to shift
back into "normal gear".

Using the Handbike as a tandem
For tandem cycling, the Handbike can be hitched to a Kettwiesel
(or vice versa) using a universal coupling (accessory) for tandem
cycling. The Handbike can be used either as the towed vehicle or
the towing vehicle, depending on which vehicle has been equipped
with the universal coupling.
The front wheel of the towed vehicle is removed, and its fork
mounted onto the holding fixture of the universal coupling on the
towing vehicle.
If the Handbike is being towed, the rider of the towed Handbike
must never countersteer. Countersteering in this situation could
damage the steering assembly.
