WARNING:
Danger of injury! Your hand-held vacuum
cleaner has a powerful engine. Hold it firmly
when switching on. If you use the flexible

otherwise thrash about.

You can set the floor nozzle's switch accord-
ing to the surface to be vacuumed:
with extended bristles (Fig. 8/A): to vacu-
um flat or sensitive floors such as parquet,
laminate and the like.
with retracted bristles (Fig. 8/B):
to vacuum carpets, runners and the like.
NOTE:
Your hand-held vacuum cleaner cannot,
however, replace a full size vacuum cleaner.
It is for cleaning up small amounts of dirt.
1. Check whether the on/off switch is in the
'0' position (Fig. 9).
2. Insert the mains plug into a socket with
ground/safety contact.
3. Hold the appliance firmly.
4. Switch on the hand-held vacuum cleaner
using the on/off switch (Fig. 9).
5. Turn off the hand-held vacuum cleaner at
the on/off switch (Fig. 9) after use and pro-
ceed as described in
"Switching off".
NOTE:
In normal situations the bypass vent should
be completely closed (Fig. 10/A). By open-
ing the bypass vent (Fig. 10/B) you can
quickly reduce the suction power, e.g. to
release curtains that have accidentally
been sucked in.
