V. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Caution: Before cleaning, please turn off and disconnect the air conditioner.
1. Cleaning of surface
Clean the surface of the air
conditioner with a duster or a semi-
wet soft cloth.
Do not use chemicals, such as
benzene, alcohol or gasoline etc.
Otherwise the surface or the air
conditioner itself may be damaged.
2. Cleaning of filters
If the filters are blocked by dust, air circulation will be impeded, which may
reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner.
If the air conditioner is used for long period of time, cleaning filters once every
two weeks is recommended:
4) Pull out filters in the direction shown in Fig.21.
5) Put the filters into warm water with neutral detergent (about 40°C),
clean them up, then let them dry in a shaded area.
6) Install filters to their original position in the direction as shown in Fig.15.
7) Remove filter 2 first and then filter 1. Re-install filter 1 then filter 2.
3. Out-of-season storage
When the air conditioner is out of season or not to be used for long time,
corresponding maintenance measures should be taken. Follow these steps to
prepare the appliance for long term storage:
1) Drain all water from the appliance. (Please refer to the Drainage of
water tank in Section IV.)
2) Switch to FAN mode.
3) To dry internal moisture completely, work the fan by pressing SPEED
for 5 seconds, and allow it to run for at least 30 minutes.
Once the above preparation work is completed, please perform the following:
1) Turn off the air conditioner and pull out the power plug. Wrap the
cable properly.
2) Remove the exhaust pipe and store it properly
3) Remove the batteries from the remote control and store them properly
4) Put the appliance into a plastic bag and store it in a dry place
