12.1.2 Choosing a cut-off length
Select desired λc.
or
l
Note that the length
depends on both the length and number of cut-offs:
t
l
Length
= (number of cut-offs +1) x λc.
t
If the chosen length value needs to be reduced since the measuring range is exceeded, select another number of cut-offs.
12.1.3 Choosing the number of cut-offs
The number of cut-offs usually selected is 5. However, you might choose another number from 1 up to 19 provided that the
cut-off length you have selected is 0,08, 0,25, 0,8 or 2,5 mm. For a length of 8 mm, the chosen number should be contained
within 1 to 5.
To increase or reduce the chosen number, use both keys
12.1.4 Probing speed
Select either of both displayed values.
12.1.5 Choosing a surface
The possibility of choosing the surface geometry allows increasing quality of results. The plain surface fit with mostly all
applications. The calculation algorithm can be increased with the curved surface option. In this case, the system is calculating
the best fitting circle across the measured total profile and deducts it to calculation of parameters.
The curved surface option has to be considered only when probe without skid is used.
Example of application of the curved surface option.
