Maintenance

Enamelled surfaces can be cleaned, only when cold, with a moist, soft cloth. Painted
surfaces can be cleaned with a soft brush or proprietary stove polish. Never clean
the unit while hot.
Minor paint damage can be touched up with spray paint and enamelled surface
damage can be touched up with coloured repair kits. Both products are available
from your Dovre Dealer. During the first use after paint spraying your unit may give
off a slight odour. This will quickly disappear.
The glass can be cleaned with a proprietary glass cleaner available from your Dovre
Dealer. Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning products.
The installation requires maintenance and inspection by a specialist at least once a
year. Maintenance will include the following:
Dusting and cleaning of the combustion chamber and the air intake and flue gas
exhaust ducts.
Inspection and checking of seals for tightness of the air and flue gas ducts, and
of wall terminal.
Dusting and cleaning of the burner. After removal of the loose coals and
matrixes, the burner can simply be lifted out. Cleaning of the burner is best
carried out with a vacuum cleaner.
Dusting of the matrixes and coals.
Take care: these parts are very fragile: do not use any hard or abrasive
materials, and do not spray with compressed air!
Cle aning and inspection of the main injector.
Disassembly and cleaning of the pilot light injector and thermocouple.
Inspection of the gas line for leaks.
Operating test: lighting the pilot flame, lighting the main burner.
Access to the most important components
Remove the loose top plate and then the front plate by lifting and sliding it up.
The pilot flame is mounted on the front side of the combustion chamber, just
beneath the glass door
Open the glass door (2 bolts at the upper part) and tilt it downwards or remove it
by lifting out of its lower hinges.
Remove the loose coals and matrixes
The main burner can now be lifted from its seat and removed.
The main injector is visible on the bottom of the combustion chamber.
If requested, the complete gas unit can be removed from the stove. The gas unit
holder plate is fixed against the bottom plate of the combustion chamber
(screws accessible from the outside). Also remove the pilot flame flange (screws
accessible from the inside).
