Introduction

The 250 DV Balanced Flue gas stove has been developed for use in living rooms and
must be used exclusively in combination with a genuine Metaloterm US horizontal
terminal, as supplied with the appliance or available from your dealer or installer.
Because of its concept the appliance can be installed in airtight and retrofitted
homes.
The unit must not simply be connected to an existing flue or chimney.
The unit is equipped with a closed combustion chamber and must be installed as a
closed unit. The combustion gasses are drawn away to the outside through a
combination intake/exhaust wall terminal by the natural draught of the unit. The
same natural draught draws in the air necessary for combustion
The exhaust system and the outlet must conform to locally applicable regulations.
This appliance is a closed unit, type C11.
The natural draught makes it necessary for the intake and the exhaust to be located
in the same pressure area. Use of the concentric pipe system automatically fulfils
this demand.

Safety

The appliance is adjusted and sealed in the factory, according to the category given
on the specification plate and according to the proper nominal load. Check to see if
the data on the specification plate corresponds with the local gas type and pressure,
and with your installation type.
The appliance must be installed, commissioned and checked by a qualified installer,
who is also well informed about national and local applicable standards and
regulations.
The installer must check the unit for leaks in the gas supply line and flue gas
exhaust line. Also, the working of the adjustment valve, the thermocouple circuit
and the lighting of the burner must be checked.
When the unit is put into service, let your installer inform you about its use,
operation and maintenance.
The unit has been developed for heating purposes. This means that all surfaces,
including the glass, can become very hot (> 100°C). An exception to this is the
control panel and the control knobs.
Never cover the appliance. Do not place curtains, clothes, washing, furniture, or
other flammable materials close to the unit. The minimum safe distance is 100 cm.
It is advisable, after the appliance is installed, to allow it to burn at its highest level
for a few hours while at the same time providing good ventilation. This is to ensure
that the protective oil on the interior of the appliance has the opportunity to
evaporate, and that the heat resistant paint has the chance to cure. It is possible for
white residue to appear on the glass and on the interior during this initial period.
